Think of this post as a profile of me and my intentions for this blog.
Intentions: This is very simple:
- Glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31)
- Build my relationship with and understanding of Jesus (2 Peter 3:18)
- Process my thoughts about life (Psalm 1:2)
- Encourage a non-believer or a fellow believer to get closer to God - work to fulfill the great commission (Matthew 5:16)
Hopefully, goals two, three and four also help me accomplish goal one.
About me: I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. He is my Lord and Savior. I attend BRAVE Church in Colorado (though this blog is not affiliated with BRAVE in any way, I do highly recommend it if you are in the Denver Metro area). I have a beautiful wife and two amazing kids, both under the age of two. By trade, I am an engineer, but if you are really interested in that, feel free to check out my LinkedIn page.
Disclaimer: I am not a pastor. I have not been to seminary. Anything good that comes from this is from the Holy Spirit working in the reader, not from anything clever I have said. If I say something that contradicts your theology, trust the Word, not me. I am going to be as honest to the Word as I know how to be, but I may fall short. If so, please—please—trust the Word of God, not me.
The last thing I’ll leave this with is the word of John the Baptist in John 3:30:
“He must increase, but I must decrease.”
I find myself praying this constantly. I earnestly want my life to magnify Christ and to make me small—to pursue true humility. I hope that comes through in my writing.
